a. All power and signals going to the VR21/VR51/
VFR129/VFR159 Loudspeaker must be “OFF”.
b. Remove all external connections.

a. Using a Phillips head screw driver remove the screws
attaching the grille to the enclosure (do not discard the
screws), and gently remove the grille. Do not detach the
grille’s foam backing.
b. For VFR129/VFR159: Remove the grille by bending
the grille in the middle, this will allow the grille to detach from
the captured portion at the top or bottom.

a. Remove the eight (8) bolts attaching
the horn to the enclosure (do not discard
the bolts, lock washers, or flat washers).
b. Gently pry the horn assembly away
from the enclosure (it may be stuck due to
the gasket seal). Support the horn assembly so it does not
drop when its free. Be careful not to pull the speaker wires.
c. Lay the cabinet on the right side so the horn assem-
bly can be placed next to it without disconnecting the wires.

a. Using a pair of wrenches, remove the four (4) hex head
screws from the old horn flange, and remove the old horn.
Note the compression driver and transition piece remain bolted
together.
a. For VFR129/VFR159: Re-attach the rubber trim pieces
to the top and bottom of the grille (if removed). Place the bottom
of the grille into the slot at the bottom of the enclosure. Bend the
grille down to place the top of the grille into the slot at the top of
the enclosure.
b. Secure the grille to the enclosure with the screws
removed in step 1a.

a. Pull back the white polyfill on the right and slightly below
the opening for the horn and reveal a portion of the passive filter.
b. Locate the multi-pin cable assembly on the passive
filter. Unplug the wire from the connector labeled “90x60” and
plug it into the connector labeled “60x45”.

a. Ensure that the new horn assembly is in the desired
orientation and place it back into the cabinet. The horn is
labeled on the side of each face indicating the pattern.
b. Use the same four (4) hex head screws, flat washers,
lock washers and nuts with the replacement horn to rebuild
the new horn assembly. Ensure the horn throat mates con-
centrically with the exit of the compression driver assembly.

b. Reattach the horn assembly with the eight (8) flat
washers, lock washers and screws removed in Step 2.
Warning: Installation should only be done by an experienced technician. Improper
installation may cause serious injury and/or damage to the equipment.
